The Milwaukee Brewers spent their first season as the Seattle Pilots before moving to Milwaukee in 1970. They got their name from Milwaukee's long history of breweries. The Brewers have jumped around somewhat, spending time in different Leagues and Divisions. From 1969 to 1997 they were in the American League. They currently play in the National League Central Division at Miller Park. Their colors are navy blue, gold and white.
It is fair to say that success has been elusive for the Brewers. Their most successful season to date was in 1982 where they finished first in AL East then won the Championship Series against the California Angels en route to their first World Series. In the Finals they faced the St Louis Cardinals but went down in the final game 6-3. In recent years they have made the postseason several times winning the NL Division Series in 2011 and 2018 but losing the Championship Series both times.
