The Miami Marlins are one of the youngest teams in Major League Baseball after being established as an expansion team in 1993. They started life as the Florida Marlins before changing their name in 2012. Their name comes from a previous minor league team. They presently play at Marlins Park in the National League East Division having moved from the Hard Rock Stadium in 2012. Their colors are midnight black, Miami blue, Caliente red and slate grey.
Despite being a relatively new team the Marlins have had some success. After finishing second in their Division in 1997, they went on to win the NL Division Series against the San Francisco Giants as a Wild Card. Another win in the NLCS against the Braves brought them to their first World Series where they beat the Cleveland Indians over seven games. They repeated this process in 2003, beating the Giants in NLDS as a Wild Card, the Cubs in the Championship Series then the Yankees in the final.
